The Eppley Institute recently partnered with USA Softball to develop an online training program for front line volunteers and staff. USA Softball is designated by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) as the National Governing Body for the sport of softball in the United States. USA Softball created the first universally accepted rules for the sport in 1933 and now manages all U.S. National and Olympic Teams, hosts the NCAA Women’s College World Series, and offers recreational league and tournament play for fast pitch, slow pitch, and modified pitch, annually conducting over 100 National Championships.
The program will deliver e-course and workshop training through four tracks: League Director, Tournament Director, Facilities and Risk Management, and Marketing and Communications. Each track can be taken separately, customizing the training to the specific interests of the individual. Upon completion of the requirements for each track, a badge will be earned. The program is the first step in USA Softball’s long-range plan to attract and develop future leaders for the organization with further, more advanced training planned.
