The Eppley Institute has been selected to present at two sessions of the inaugural World Urban Parks Congress in Ponte de Lima, Portugal from May 25 through May 30, 2015.
The first presentation is a joint workshop with Yardstick, a global organization dedicated to providing benchmarking tools for informed management of parks and related facilities. The Eppley Institute will discuss the World Parks Academy and the Certified International Park Professional (CIPP) program, which are supported by a consortium of partners (including the Eppley Institute) and managed by Eppley Institute project manager Austin Hochstetler. Since its inception, the CIPP certification program has been growing in popularity. Universities around the world are requesting that graduates of their related degree programs be considered for CIPP certification.
The Eppley Institute’s Executive Director, Steve Wolter, will also present the Closing Keynote Address, entitled “Innovative Technology for ‘Smart’ Park Management.” In addition to his presentations, Wolter will be attending the Congress in a promotional capacity, representing the Eppley Institute’s professional development programs as well as the online Master of Science degree in Parks and Public Lands Management offered through Indiana University’s Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Studies.
